Based in Norwich, UK, David divides his time between solo and accompaniment work and teaching.
David studied piano at the Royal college of Music with Peter Element, graduating in 1989. Later he studied with Peter Feuchtwanger. He plays a wide range of repertoire with a particular love of French and Russian music, often playing the rare and unknown gems he has discovered on his travels. As concerto soloist he has worked with, amongst others, the London Mozart Players.
David has given solo recitals in Britain, the USA, for Polish television in Warsaw and extensively aboard cruise liners.
David is well known on the local music scene in Norfolk. Recent performances have been with Keswick Hall Choir in music by Reger and Lilli Boulanger and last December he performed with Mid Norfolk Singers playing the (very grand) piano part to Rossini’s ‘Petite Messe Solonelle’.
He has been official accompanist for Norfolk County Music festival for 15 years and enjoys sharing his wealth of performance experience in coaching adult learners and young people as an accompanist as part of the festival, for pupil concerts of various kinds and most recently for the Norfolk Young Musician Competition held every year in January by the Mike Badminton Trust.
He has recorded 2 CDs, ‘Piano Variations’ and ‘Piano Interpretations.’
He teaches privately and at Norwich School.
